About the walk

This is walk thought the lanes of Panchwati discovering the history of the neighbourhood through its temples. These temples have witnessed centuries of socio-political changes in the town and have seen some of the most prominent movements in the history of India's social reforms. They also represent a story of trade, victory and control that gave the city a unique look and texture. During the walk we will discover the hidden gems of Panchwati through a combination mythological and historical stories.

I am a researcher and documentary filmmaker who conducts walking tours in historic Panchwati and Old Nashik. I started my career as a researcher on a documentary film series for the National Geographic Channel Network that documented India's arts, crafts, tribes and food. I also indulged in scriptwriting and direction and soon realised that my city, Nashik, has a unique story to tell which is still untold.
