Siliguri is known as the gateway to North Bengal. For years it has always been a city with a confluence of cultures. Due to the geographical location of the city and its political importance, it was always a hotbed of different political regimes, as the city houses people from multiple cultures and ethnicities, such as Bengali, Nepali, Bhutiya, Bihari and Kamtapuri. Hence, the historical value of this city is of utmost importance.
We shall visit the following places during our first walk in the city: Mahananda Bridge, Mahamaya Temple, St. Mary’s Church, Hanuman Temple and the Mosque at Champasari.
