Siliguri is known as the gateway to North Bengal. For years, it has been a city with a confluence of cultures. Due to the geographical location of the city and its political importance, it was always a hotbed of different political regimes as the city consists of people from multilingual backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities, such as the Bengali, Nepali, Bhutiya, Bihari and Kamtapuri communities. Hence, the significance and historical value of this city are of utmost importance.
We shall visit the following sites during our first walk in the city – Mahananda Bridge, Mahamaya Temple, St. Mary’s Church, Hanuman Temple and the Mosque at Champasari.
