Ram Bagh Palace, a Mughal-architectural-styled monument in Amritsar used to be the summer palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh empire in Punjab. Since the Maharaja had a very close connection with Amritsar, he used to visit the city on the occasions of Vaisakhi, Vijayadashami and Diwali.
Built in the middle of Ram Bagh, the palace was constructed under the supervision of Faqir Aziz-ul-din, Desadingh and Sardar Sehna Singh Majithia. Also known as Company Bagh, the people of Amritsar frequent the area today for recreational activities in the mornings and evenings.
The walk will start from the Ram Bagh gate on the Mall road, and on the way we will visit the panorama of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, which depicts the important life events of the Maharaja. We will then walk through the park and then reach the Summer Palace.
