Commonly known for its vegetarian thalis, farsaan and mithais, Ahmedabad is also famous for its lip-smacking non-vegetarian food joints. Situated inside the walled city, these restaurants follow recipes that go back to centuries. The stories of these recipes travelling from the Middle East are what makes these dishes all the more delicious.
We shall start the walk at Lucky Tea Stall, introducing ourselves over a cup of tea, followed by a walk towards the Bhadra Fort. We shall taste some sweets at Mansuri Halwa and stop at Bera Samosa to try out their famous mutton samosa, chicken dana and kababs. We will then move to Irani Cafe to taste their famous maska bun and the finest egg bhurji. Post that, we will walk through Bhatiyar Gali, covering Paramount, Nishat, Zam-Zam, Akbari, Haji and ZK Fries. Taking a small break at Gandhi Cold Drinks, we will move towards the Kalupur Tower and explore some lesser known street food. We will end the walk at the 70-year-old reatery, Noorani Bara Handi, for dinner.
Come, join us as we rediscover the food culture of one of the oldest parts of the city.
