200 years of British rule had an everlasting impact on India, and its effects are especially visible in the city of Kanpur (called Cawnpore in the colonial period). The revolt of 1857 under the leadership of Nana Rao Peshwa led to the death of many British men, women and children. In the memory of those lost souls, the All Souls Cathedral (also called Kanpur Memorial Church) was constructed.
Join us in the walk where we shall explore this beautiful specimen of the Lombardic Gothic architectural style and learn about Christianity—one of the oldest and most followed religion today.
