Gurudwara Bangla Sahib - Sacred Abode of the 8th Sikh Guru

It is rare to find peace in the chaotic capital city of Delhi, but near the busy markets of Connaught Place is a place which attracts tens of thousands of people a day! This is the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the abode of the eighth Sikh Guru Har Krishan Ji, which was built in 1783.

The complex is home to a pond, a langar hall and the beautiful gurudwara. This walk will help you understand the concept of 'Sewa' and 'One God Belief 'in Sikhism, as well as explore the medieval history of Aurangzeb and his connection with the place. The essence of Sikhism can be best felt here while visiting the iconic structure, paying respect to Guru Sahib and sitting by the blissful sarovar  (pond) inside the complex. Join the walk to see why the marvellous beauty of this gurudwara spellbinds visitors from around the world.

  • Please maintain silence inside the main gurudwara. Please also carry a cloth to cover your head inside the gurudwara (caps are not allowed).
  • Wear comfortable and appropriate footwear as you will have to remove it inside the gurudwara complex.
  • Photography is strictly prohibited.
  • Authorised parking facility is available at the Gurudwara (parking fee has to be borne by the participant if any). Please note that Shivaji Stadium metro station, on the Orange Line, is the closest station to the destination.
