The cenotaphs of the Kachhwaha royals bear witness to the history of the city of Jaipur. This site is surrounded by the magnificent Aravallis and stands as the resting place of many rajas. The earliest cenotaph belongs to Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of the walled city of Jaipur. These beautiful structures have evolved over time and display a variety of architectural trends, including British and Islamic influences. These changes are also representative of the changing political milieu of the time. On this walk we will explore the illustrious history of Jaipur and the men who ruled it as well as marvel at the distinct beauty of each royal cenotaph.
