Feminist Utopia – Celebrating Women’s Day at the Government Museum

About the walk

Women are the biggest untapped reservoir of talent in the world. Today, they are excelling in all fields of human endeavour, be it leading nations, navigating the universe as astronauts or contributing to the fields of science and technology. With perseverance and determination, women around the world strive to prove themselves in order to reach the pinnacle of success. However, despite scaling new heights, they still constantly struggle to resist inequality and discrimination.

What was the status of women in different periods of history? Were women in oriental and occidental civilisations ever better placed than their modern counterparts or is the present century an age of feminist utopia?

Let's trace the history of women around the world, and especially India, through a visual art walk at the Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh.

This guided tour is free.
