Of Beauty and Mystery - Orchha Fort and its Palaces

About the walk

The heritage walk will begin at the ticket counter of the Orchha Fort and end at the Raja Mahal. This palace, which used to be the residence of the Bundela Rajputs, has a beautiful architectural design and contains a collection of miniature paintings. We will stop by the Sheesh Mahal to admire the beauty of the structure and then walk toward the Jehangir Mahal—a symbol of friendship between the Rajputs and the Mughals—and the Rai Parveen Mahal while listening to the mysterious legends behind the ruins of Orchha. Finally, we will arrive at the most holy spot in the complex, the Raja Ram Mandir, which was once known as the Rani Mahal.

The guided tour is free.
