The Gurusaday Museum houses treasures from the personal collection of Gurusaday Dutt. Besides being the site for the establishment of the legendary Bengal Bratachari Samity, the extensive collection of the museum has over 3000 artworks/artefacts, which includes 16th century Bengali manuscripts, original Kalighat Pats, tribal masks, a vast collection of various kantha styles from pre-partition Bengal, as well as rare archaeological finds, dating back to the 2nd millennium BC.
On this walk, we shall cover the folk and tribal artwork sections of the museum, and also learn about the recent difficulties that it has been facing. This walk is in collaboration with the Save Gurusaday Museum campaign.
This guided tour is free.
