Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary is the smallest sanctuary in Goa with approximately 8 sq. km. area. However, it is rich in biodiversity and serves as the host of Goa’s only zoo. Being one of the birding hotspots, this sanctuary was also categorised as an Important Bird & Biodiversity Area (IBBA). This sanctuary provides feeding and nesting grounds to birds, its water bodies act as vital habitat for reptiles such as crocodiles and dense forest houses mammals like the leopard, Indian Bison, spotted and sambar deers and Malabar Giant Squirrel. Even though this is a small sanctuary, it is a great destination for naturalists to explore and learn ecology.
This walk will entail a virtual tour of the sanctuary which houses numerous species of flora and fauna and explore how the sanctuary came into existence.
This is an online guided tour. This event is free and open to all.
