Map your Neighbourhood

About the walk

Children from Sri Parakash Boys Primary School/ Srima Probe Shikhalaya (Neematala neighbourhood) through the Hope Foundation, will be shown different neighbourhoods in the city with a view to get them to start thinking about the tangible and intangible cultures that make up the city and to look for visuals markers of local/neighbourhood heritage

The focus of the workshop is to develop creativity and an awareness of the presence of cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, in their neighbourhoods and further in their cities.

The workshop is specially designed as a cultural, educational and entertainment session where children will be interacting, learning and thinking about cultural heritage. By posing questions about their own neighbourhoods, and that of the city at large, the children will learn how to note, sketch and make memory maps, thus bringing forth what cultural heritage means to them. The children will be given booklets with information and cues along with sketching material for the workshop.

This experience is specially curated for the students Sri Prakash Boys Primary School and is not open to the general public.
