The heritage city of Barsoor, today known as Bastar is known for its natural and architectural beauty, it has 147 temples and ponds within its boundaries, built by ruling dynasties such as the Nala, Ganga, Naga and Kakatiya from the 10th to the 12th centuries. Some notable temples in Bastar are Battisa Temple (which has two sanctum sanctorum in a single mandap dedicated to Lord Shiva), Mama Bhacha Temple, Chandraditya Temple (also known as the Khajuraho of Bastar), and the Twin Ganesha Idols which is the third largest sandstone idol of Lord Ganesha in the world.
