Jaipur boasts of a variety of historical temples, among which Galta Ji holds historical, architectural as well as mythological importance. The ancient 18th century monkey temple is situated about 10 kilometres towards the east of the city, and houses temple complexes dedicated to various gods including Krishna, Rama, Vishnu, Surya and Brahma (the only temple dedicated to Brahma in Jaipur). It features traditional Rajputana architecture with richly ornamented facades, fresco paintings, haveli architecture, pavilions with Kunds and natural water springs.
Join the walk to explore the various facts and stories behind the temple complex and the importance it holds for the city. The walk starts from the Galtaji entrance gate, headed through Ghat ki Ghuni tunnel, and ends with a trek towards the last stop, the Surya temple, which offers a breath-taking view of Jaipur.
