Glimpses of Nagpur During the British Raj

About the walk

Nagpur was founded by the Gond rulers of Deogarh and later came under the rule of the Nagpur Bhonsles. The British conquests of the Marathas in central India earmarked the dawn of the British Raj in Central India. Nagpur, geographically located at the centre, was the capital of the Central Provinces & Berar.

Like many cities of the subcontinent, Civil Lines was developed in Nagpur as well. Having been developed during and by the British Raj, the area is majorly dominated by grand and beautiful buildings in the colonial style. Let’s walk back in the time through places that are the spectators of this era, and take a glimpse of these structures.

This guided tour is free.
