Dargah to Dharmaraya - The Epitome of Secularism

About the walk

India was aptly called a 'melting pot of cultures' by Pandit Nehru. The dargah of the Sufi saint, Hazrath Tawakkal Mastan Baba, and the Dharmaraya Swamy Temple, dedicated to Draupadi and the Pandavas in Kempegowda’s Pete, have an interesting history that reflects the essentially secular nature of our culture. They stand as a testimony to our syncretic cultural legacy,

We will commence our walk at the dargah in Cottonpet and trail along the Pete listening to stories of this diverse native town. We will conclude the walk with the Dharmaraya Swamy Temple in Nagarathpet which has an 800-year-old legacy.

This guided tour is free.
