Rivers have played an important role in India mostly because civilizations and cultures flourish on the banks of a river. The Kharun River is one such river situated on the banks of the Raipur town. First, we will discuss the origin of the Kharun River. In the 14th century, the Kalchuri King Bramhadewray settled in the city of Raipur. He built a magnificent temple here which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the ghat is called Mahadev Ghat. There are many historical events attached to this spot. People come to this ghat for worship, peace, yoga and meditation. After the Shiv Temple and Ghat, we will walk to the Temple of Ramji and Hanumanji, made from white marble and discuss the idols there. We will also visit the first suspension bridge of Chhattisgarh (Laxman Jula).
