A Classical Exploration to Banaras Gharana

About the walk

The Gharana concept attributes to the Guru-Sishya parampara that has travelled from ages. Varanasi is famous for its streets, filled with various activities and liveliness. The walk is a footstep towards the intangible cultural heritage covering the essence of the city in its music, dance, and art. The uniqueness of the ‘Kabirchaura’ lies within the eminent personalities like Pt. Jalpa Prasad Mishra Ji, Smt. Sitara Devi Ji, Pt. Samta Prasad Misra Ji, Pt. Kishen Maharaj Ji, and many more such legends of 'Banaras Gharana'.

We shall witness this unique lifestyle and culture by visiting some of their places and meanwhile explore an important heritage of Varanasi i.e. Kabir Math, associated with the great Sant, Kabir. The walk will give an insight towards the strong cultural aspect of the city and shall start from Ramkatora leading towards the end to Kabir Math.

This guided tour is free and is a physical tour.
