This Deepawali let's explore 'Haatdi’ carft of Ahmedabad. The Haatdi is placed at the prayer alters in every home, along with a diya and prasad (sweets) as an offering to God on Deepawali day.

Haatdi is made once a year few days before Deepawali. The making of the same is a very interesting process. It is made by a specific potter community of Ahmedabad . All family members are involved in this process in one way or another.  Making of Haatdi is a handmade process and requires special skill and an eye for deatil as well.
